Job summary

Mews is seeking a PayOps Analyst to act as the operational heartbeat of our Payment Operations function. You will monitor payouts, manage incidents end to end, and provide insights to keep merchants paid accurately and on time.

You will spot issues under pressure, improve operational readiness, and help scale the playbooks and reporting. An AI-first approach and Claude usage are encouraged to drive efficiency.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in payments, operations, or fintech.
• Hands-on PSP experience, Stripe/Adyen; Airwallex or similar.
• Strong understanding of card acquiring, payouts, and authorisation flows.
• Analytical, data-driven approach to incident investigation.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Slack; dashboards in Power BI or Databricks a plus.
• Excellent communication with internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Monitor payout timeliness, authorisation success rates, SLA breaches, and fee accuracy across PSPs.
• Log and manage incidents in the Jira Service Portal from triage to close.
• Perform root-cause analysis and feed insights to PayOps Manager.
• Support readiness checklists for onboarding, new markets, and launches.
• Coordinate with CS, Product, FinTech R&D, FinCrime, and PSPs to resolve escalations.
• Prepare weekly KPI reports and monthly vendor performance summaries.
• Maintain runbooks for recurring issues and SOPs.
• Flag recurring incidents to the Operational Risk Register.
