Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking an experienced engineer to embed with Compliance and help build AI-powered, auditable workflows inside the Office of the CTO.

You will shape how automation touches case resolution, trade surveillance, and regulatory workflows while ensuring regulatory traceability and governance. You’ll prototype on Coinbase’s AI platform, define the automation roadmap with Compliance leadership, and drive adoption across teams through hands-on sessions and pragmatic tooling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in production systems.
• Hands-on experience deploying LLM-based applications and prompt engineering.
• Ability to embed with non-technical domain experts and translate workflows into engineering requirements.
• Familiarity with compliance workflows like transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and audit-ready data handling.

Responsibilities

• Embed with Compliance leadership to surface high‑leverage automation opportunities.
• Prototype quickly using Coinbase's AI platform as baseline.
• Own the Compliance automation roadmap with leadership, translating regulatory workflows into engineering requirements.
• Define the build-vs-buy strategy for Compliance tooling.
• Ensure every automated output is traceable, auditable, and subject to human-in-the-loop controls.
• Drive adoption through demos, brown-bags, and feedback loops.
