Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a founding engineer to embed with the Compliance organization inside the Office of the CTO. You will surface automation opportunities, prototype using Coinbase's AI platform, and drive adoption for high-stakes compliance outputs.

You will own the automation roadmap, translate complex regulatory workflows into engineering requirements, and shape build-vs-buy decisions in a regulatory-heavy environment. This is a remote-first, hybrid role within the U.S. market.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience shipping production systems.
• Hands-on experience deploying LLM-based applications with guardrails.
• Ability to embed with non-technical domain experts and translate workflows into engineering needs.

Responsibilities

• Embed with Compliance leadership and frontline teams to surface high-leverage automation opportunities.
• Prototype quickly using Coinbase's AI platform and propose net-new builds when needed.
• Own the Compliance automation roadmap in partnership with leadership and translate workflows into engineering requirements.
• Define build-vs-buy strategy for Compliance tooling and ensure auditability and traceability.
• Drive adoption through training sessions and feedback loops to maximize tool usage.
