Job summary

bioMerieux is seeking a Field Systems Engineer to service customers within the assigned territory and nationally. The role requires remote work without direct supervision and may involve overnight travel on short notice.

Key duties include installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs; relationship building; and identifying sales opportunities for cross-functional teams, with up to 90% domestic travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or other related discipline.
• 2+ years of professional related experience in troubleshooting and/or repair of complex electro-mechanical, electronic, computer, electrical systems in commercial, industrial, or military setting required.
• Education Substitution: In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 6+ years of relevant experience, defined above, is required.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to ensure instruments meet specifications.
• Build trust with customers, promote service agreements, and identify sales opportunities for cross-functional teams.
• Foster teamwork across service and support teams while driving field service revenue through billable offerings.
• Attend product training at Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO offices within the first year.
• Travel includes both scheduled and unscheduled visits with overnight stays as needed.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation (~every 5 weeks) with potential national travel.
