Job summary

bioMerieux is seeking a Field Systems Engineer to service customers across the assigned territory and nationally. The role emphasizes remote work, self-motivation, and overnight travel as needed to ensure instruments meet specifications.

You will install, maintain, and repair complex systems, build trust with customers, and promote service agreements. Training will occur within the first year with periods of travel and occasional on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or related discipline.
• 2+ years of professional experience in troubleshooting and/or repair of complex electro-mechanical, electronic, computer, electrical systems.
• Education substitution: 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs using electronic and computer skills.
• Build trust with customers, promote service agreements, and identify sales opportunities for cross-functional teams.
• Foster teamwork and drive field service revenue through billable offerings like preventive maintenance and equipment moves.
• Attend product training in Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO offices within the first year and as needed.
• Travel includes scheduled and unscheduled visits with overnight stays for wide territories and occasional national travel.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation (approximately every 5 weeks).
• Complete service work orders, QA checklists, and internal training requirements timely and accurately.
• Maintain an up-to-date calendar and submit travel expense reports regularly.
• Follow all company policies for fleet, inventory, and equipment handling.
• Represent bioMerieux professionally and support trade shows as needed.
