Job summary

bioMérieux seeks a Field Systems Engineer to service customers across the assigned territory and nationally, with remote work flexibility and overnight travel as needed. The role emphasizes installations, maintenance, and repairs to ensure instrument specifications are met.

The candidate should have a engineering-related degree and 2+ years of troubleshooting experience, with a willingness to travel up to 90% domestically and participate in training programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or related discipline.
• 2+ years of professional related experience troubleshooting/repair of complex electro-mechanical, electronic, computer, electrical systems.
• Education Substitution: 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to ensure instruments meet specifications.
• Build trust with customers, promote service agreements, and identify sales opportunities for cross-functional teams.
• Foster teamwork across service and support teams while driving field service revenue through billable offerings.
• Attend 6–9 weeks of product training at Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO offices within the first year; future trainings as needed.
• Travel includes scheduled and unscheduled visits; overnight travel for wide territories and national travel as needed.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation (~every 5 weeks) with local phone availability and potential national travel.
