Job summary

bioMerieux is seeking a Field Systems Engineer to service customers across the assigned territory and nationally as needed. The role emphasizes self-motivation, remote work, and overnight travel with a focus on delivering best-in-class customer experiences.

The engineer will perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of complex electro-mechanical and electronic systems, promote service agreements, and drive field service revenue while coordinating with sales and applications

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience troubleshooting and/or repairing complex electro-mechanical, electronic, or electrical systems.
• Education substitution: 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.
• Build trust with customers, promote service agreements, and identify sales opportunities.
• Foster teamwork across service and support teams while driving field service revenue.
• Attend 6-9 weeks of product training at Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO offices within the first year; future trainings as needed.
• Travel includes both scheduled and unscheduled visits, with overnight travel as needed.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation (~every 5 weeks) with potential national travel.
• Complete service work orders and QA checklists accurately.
• Maintain calendar of availability and submit travel expense reports regularly.
