Job summary

bioMérieux is seeking a Field Systems Engineer to service customers within the assigned territory and nationally, traveling as needed. The role requires self-motivation, remote work ability, and readiness for overnight travel on short notice.

The position emphasizes installations, maintenance, and repairs, plus building customer relationships and identifying cross-functional sales opportunities. Training occurs in the first year; travel includes national coverage and on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or related discipline.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in troubleshooting and/or repair of complex electro-mechanical, electronic, computer, electrical systems in commercial, industrial, or military settings.
• In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to ensure instruments meet specifications.
• Build trust with customers, promote service agreements, and identify sales opportunities.
• Drive field service revenue through billable offerings such as preventive maintenance and equipment moves.
• Attend product training (6–9 weeks) at Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO offices within the first year.

Education

Bachelor degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or related discipline

6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor's

Valid driver’s license
