Job summary

bioMérieux is seeking a Field Systems Engineer to service customers across the territory and nationally as needed. The role requires remote work with overnight travel readiness and a proactive, self-starting approach to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

The FSE will install, maintain, upgrade and repair sophisticated instruments, build customer relationships, and support cross-functional sales and service teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience in troubleshooting and/or repair of complex electro-mechanical, electronic, computer, electrical systems.
• Education Substitution: In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 6+ years of relevant experience, defined above, is required.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Attend to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to ensure instruments meet specifications.
• Build trust with customers, promote service agreements, and identify sales opportunities.
• Foster teamwork across service and support teams while driving field service revenue.
• Attend 6–9 weeks of product training at Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO offices within the first year; future trainings occur as needed.
• Travel includes both scheduled and unscheduled visits, with increased overnight stays for wide territories and occasional national travel.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation (~every 5 weeks).
• Timely and accurate completion of service work orders, QA checklists, and internal training requirements.
