bioMerieux Inc. in the United States seeks a Field Systems Engineer to service instruments across the region and nationwide as needed. The role involves installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs, with overnight travel and remote work as appropriate.

The FSE will build customer relationships, promote service agreements, and drive field service revenue through billable maintenance and equipment moves while ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or other related discipline.
• 2+ years of professional related experience in troubleshooting and/or repair of complex electro-mechanical, electronic, computer, electrical systems in commercial, industrial, or military setting required.
• Education Substitution: In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 6+ years of relevant experience, defined above, is required.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs using electronic and computer skills to ensure instruments meet specifications.
• Promote service agreements and identify sales opportunities for cross-functional teams.
• Drive field service revenue through billable maintenance and equipment moves.
• Attend 6-9 weeks of product training at Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO offices within the first year; future trainings occur as needed.
• Travel includes both scheduled and unscheduled visits, with increased overnight stays for wide territories and occasional national travel.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation (~every 5 weeks).
• Timely and accurate completion of service work orders, QA checklists, and internal training requirements.
