bioMerieux is seeking a Field Systems Engineer to service instruments across the United States with regional and national travel. The role involves installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs, with on‑call rotations and extensive product training in Durham, NC or St.

Louis, MO during the first year. The candidate should have a technical degree, 2+ years of troubleshooting experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or related discipline.
• 2+ years of professional experience in troubleshooting and/or repair of complex electro‑mechanical, electronic, computer, electrical systems.
• Education substitution: 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to ensure instruments meet specifications.
• Build trust with customers and promote service agreements; identify sales opportunities.
• Drive field service revenue through preventive maintenance and equipment moves.
• Attend 6–9 weeks of product training within the first year; future trainings as needed.
• Travel includes frequent local and occasional national trips; overnight travel as needed.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation (~every 5 weeks).
• Complete service work orders, QA checklists, and training requirements on time.
• Maintain calendar of availability and submit travel expenses regularly.
