Job summary

BD is seeking a home-based Field Service Engineer to support Pyxis automated dispensing systems across the Maine region. The role requires daily travel to customer sites with only remote work from home and occasional 5% overnight travel.

A valid driver's license is required. Responsibilities include diagnosing hardware and software issues, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting Sales and Implementation teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• 3 years of hardware/software/IT experience in field service.
• 24x7 on-call experience in a customer-facing environment.
• Computer electronics, Windows OS, and networking experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and follow BD safety standards.
• Associates degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support for BD Pyxis systems in hospitals and healthcare facilities.
• Respond to, diagnose, and resolve hardware/software issues; log work order activity.
• Implement preventive maintenance and support Sales/Implementation teams.
• Demonstrate proficiency in solving hardware/software problems.
• Provide field services including installations, servicing, maintenance, calibration, and sales support.
• Maintain small parts inventory per policy and procedures.
• Continue training to advance to the next level in 2–3 years.
• Follow Customer complaint handling and Medical Device Reporting procedures.
