Job summary

BD is seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform remote field-based support within the Michigan territory, traveling to customer sites daily and providing on-site servicing for Pyxis systems. A company vehicle is provided, and occasional overnight travel may be required.

The role requires a 3+ year background in hardware/software/IT and a valid driver’s license. The ideal candidate lives within 30 miles of Lansing, MI, and will participate in maintenance, repairs, installations, and customer

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; 3+ years field service experience preferred
• 3+ years hardware/software/IT experience supporting proprietary and standard applications
• 24x7 on-call experience in a customer-facing/field service environment required
• Good mechanical, computer, verbal, written, and time management skills required
• Must possess valid driver’s license and meet BD auto safety standards
• Willingness to travel within assigned territory and work in a field-based role

Responsibilities

• Provide remote and on-site technical support for BD Pyxis systems within hospitals and healthcare facilities within the territory
• Respond to work orders, diagnose issues, and document activity
• Perform preventive maintenance and support Sales and Implementation teams as needed
• Troubleshoot hardware and software problems and provide timely field services
• Maintain accurate small parts inventory and adhere to inventory controls
• Document field activity, expenses, and time distribution accurately
• Pursue ongoing training to advance product knowledge and skills in 2–3 years
