Job summary

BD is seeking a Field Service Engineer for a remote field-based role covering the Lansing, MI area with daily travel to customer sites within the territory. The position includes a daily schedule of 8-5 and an after-hours rotation on weekends and evenings, with up to 5% overnight travel and a valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma plus 3 years of related field service experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of combination Hardware/Software/IT experience supporting both proprietary and standard applications.
• 24x7 after hours experience in a customer-facing/field service environment, required.
• Good mechanical, computer, verbal, written, and time management skills, required.
• Computer electronics, Windows OS, network experience, required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet BD's auto safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote and on-site technical support for BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems within the territory and in accordance with customer support agreements.
• Respond to, evaluate, and prioritize work orders; diagnose, service, and resolve issues; log and track all activity.
• Execute a preventive maintenance program and support Sales and Implementation teams as needed.
• Demonstrate competent troubleshooting of hardware and software problems.
• Provide efficient field services including installations, in-servicing, repair, preventive maintenance, calibration, and sales support.
• Maintain proper small parts inventory and follow inventory control procedures.
• Document field activity, expenses, and time distribution accurately.
• Continue training to advance skills and grow within the company.
