Job summary

Top Echelon Software LLC is seeking a Field Application Engineer to support regional sales managers by understanding customer requirements and translating them into technically sound solutions for aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. The role is fully remote within the assigned territory, with 50%+ travel including overnight trips.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in Field Applications Engineering, Technical Sales Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a comparable customer-facing technical role.
• Strong technical understanding of hardware/software integration and embedded computing systems.
• Experience gathering customer requirements and translating customer needs into technical requirements or product recommendations.
• Proven ability to provide technical sales support and collaborate with regional sales managers.
• Experience presenting technical information, product capabilities, and solutions to customers.
• Strong understanding of FPGA/DSP-based embedded hardware.
• Strong understanding of RF and analog technologies.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Customer-focused, self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness and ability to travel 50% or more, including overnight and multi-day trips.
• Ability to travel regularly, often approximately two weeks per month depending on customer demand.

Responsibilities

• Support regional sales managers by understanding customer requirements and recommending solutions.
• Present products, roadmaps, and technology capabilities to customers.
• Act as technical bridge between customers, sales, and internal teams for pre-sales engagements.
• Provide technical assistance throughout the customer relationship.
• Travel as required to customer sites and represent the company on engagements.
