Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Field Access Manager (FAM) to act as the subject-matter expert on access issues for HCPs and HCOs. This remote/field-based role collaborates with patient support, market access, and field sales to facilitate timely patient access to therapy.

The FAM educates providers on access processes, reimbursement, and hub programs, analyzes access trends, and coordinates with hub vendors to address coverage barriers. Requires 7+ years in related roles and travel 20-25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 7+ years in patient support, pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or operations, or reimbursement support.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial) and related access processes.
• Expertise in pharmaceutical compliance and HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
• Experience working in a remote environment with 20-25% travel; must reside in the assigned metro area.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and education to HCP accounts on patient access, including benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, and patient support programs in live and virtual formats.
• Analyze access trends.
• Partner cross-functionally to address barriers to patient access and support patient satisfaction.
• Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to support seamless patient access to therapy and monitor payer trends.
• Provide access information to HCP offices and educate field teams on access topics.
