Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking a Field Access Manager (FAM) to act as the subject-matter expert on access issues for healthcare professionals and organizations. You will work with patient support, market access, and field sales to ensure timely patient access to therapy.

The role educates providers on access processes, payer coverage, patient assistance programs, and hub services, analyzes access trends, and builds cross-functional relationships to overcome barriers. 25% travel required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field.
• Minimum 7 years in patient support, pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or reimbursement operations.
• Extensive knowledge of health insurance structures and access processes.
• Experience with HIPAA and pharmaceutical compliance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject-matter expert on access issues for HCPs and HCOs.
• Provide information on access processes, reimbursement, and patient assistance programs.
• Analyze access trends and partner cross-functionally to address barriers.
• Educate HCP offices and field teams on payer coverage and hub resources.
• Escalate access issues with third parties and maintain knowledge of payer policies.
• Attend national/regional meetings and maintain stakeholder relationships.
