Job summary

Merck is seeking a Field Access Manager (FAM) to serve as the subject-matter expert on access for HCPs and HCOs. This remote/field-based role involves educating providers on access processes, reimbursement issues, and patient support programs, while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

The FAM will analyze access issues, coordinate with hub and cross-functional teams, and support payer coverage decisions to facilitate patient access to therapy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 7+ years in patient support, pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or operations, or reimbursement support.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures and related access processes.
• Expertise in HIPAA and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide information to HCPs on patient access including benefit verification and prior authorization.
• Analyze access trends and barriers to patient access.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to address access barriers and support patient satisfaction.
• Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders to enable seamless access to therapy.
• Provide education to field teams on access processes and payer coverage.
• Coordinate with hub/vendor on patient cases as needed.
• Educate HCP offices on hub programs and patient support resources.
• Monitor payer coverage policies and regional market dynamics.
• Attend national and regional meetings.
