Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Field Access Manager (FAM) to serve as the subject-matter expert on access for HCPs and HCOs.

The FAM will work remote/field-based across an assigned geography, educating providers on access processes, reimbursement, and patient support programs while ensuring HIPAA-compliant practices. You will analyze access trends, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and coordinate with hub vendors to address payer barriers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 7 years in patient support, pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or reimbursement.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial).
• Expertise in pharmaceutical compliance and HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide information/education to HCP accounts on access, benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, and patient support programs.
• Analyze access trends and barriers to patient access.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to address barriers and support patient satisfaction.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless access to therapy.
• Escalate and coordinate access issues with third parties including hub vendor.
