Job summary

Merck is seeking a Field Access Manager (FAM) to act as the subject-matter expert on access issues for healthcare professionals and organizations. This remote/field-based role partners with patient support, market access, and field sales to facilitate timely patient access to therapy, including benefit verification, prior authorization, and hub enrollment.

Qualifications

• Provide information and education to HCP accounts on patient access, including benefit verification and prior authorization.
• Analyze access trends and identify barriers to patient access.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Field Sales, Market Access, Public Affairs, and other teams.
• Coordinate with hub vendor and access hub on patient cases and coverage issues.
• Maintain knowledge of payer coverage policies (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial).
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide access information to HCP offices and educate field teams on approved programs.
• Escalate access issues with third parties and hub vendors as needed.
• Educate HCPs on hub programs, patient support offerings and financial assistance.
• Monitor payer trends and advise on access barriers to improve patient access.
• Attend National and Regional Meetings to stay aligned with policy changes.
• Support product access discussions across multiple payer types.
