Job summary

Merck & Co. seeks a Field Access Manager to serve as the expert on access issues for HCPs and HCOs, working cross-functionally to support patient access to therapy.

This remote/field-based role will educate providers on access processes, reimbursement, and patient assistance programs while ensuring regulatory compliance. The FAM will analyze access data, coordinate with the hub, and collaborate with Field Sales, Market Access, and Public Affairs to address barriers and improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; seven years of patient support, pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or reimbursement experience.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial) and related access processes.
• Expertise in compliance and HIPAA regulations; ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and education to HCP accounts on patient access, including benefit verification and prior authorizations.
• Analyze access trends and collaborate cross-functionally to address barriers.
• Educate field teams on access and payer policies; coordinate with hub vendors for patient cases.
• Maintain knowledge of regional and national market dynamics and payer coverage changes.
• Support patient access to products while ensuring compliance with policies and SOPs.
