Job summary

Merck is seeking a Field Access Manager (FAM) to serve as a subject-matter expert on access issues for HCPs and HCOs. The role is remote/field-based, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely patient access and compliant education on payer coverage across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid plans.

Responsibilities include payer trend monitoring, hub coordination, and education for field teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 7+ years in patient support, pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or operations, or reimbursement support.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures and access processes.
• Expertise in HIPAA and pharmaceutical compliance.
• Willingness to travel 20–25% and reside in the New England South territory.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and education to HCP accounts on patient access and reimbursement.
• Analyze access trends and identify barriers to patient access.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support patient access to therapy.
• Monitor payer trends and address access issues with hub/vendor partners.
• Educate field teams on access processes and payer coverage changes.
• Coordinate on patient cases with access hub and other parties.
• Attend national and regional meetings.
