Job summary

SMX seeks an experienced federal financial reporting specialist to advise on design, construction, and validation of a next-generation financial statement solution aligned with FM QSMO standards. You will work with accountants, analysts, solution architects and developers to build and validate outputs for federal customers.

This contractor role supports 100% remote work, with responsibilities spanning data modeling, crosswalk validation, and disclosure design, across Balance Sheet and other

Qualifications

• 7+ years of federal financial management experience.
• Experience in federal financial statement prep/audit of statements.
• Knowledge of USSM framework, FIBF, QSMO and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Advise on design and construction of data model, dimensions, and hierarchies for federal statements.
• Validate USSGL crosswalks and map transactions to line items.
• Verify statements (Balance Sheet, Net Cost, Changes in Net Position, Budget Resources) per A-136.
• Assist with footnotes and disclosures per FASAB guidance.
