Job summary

SMX is seeking an experienced federal financial reporting specialist to advise on the design, construction, and validation of our federal financial reporting solution aligned with FM QSMO standards. You will collaborate with a team of accountants, analysts, solution architects and developers to build and enhance a best-in-class solution for federal customers.

This contract, either part-time or full-time, allows for 100% remote work.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of federal financial management experience.
• Experience in federal financial statement preparation or auditing.
• Familiarity with USSM.gov framework, FIBF, QSMO and related standards.
• Hands-on GTAS experience with trial balance and validations.
• Knowledge of OMB Circulars A-123, A-136 and A-11.
• Understanding of FASAB publications and footnotes design.
• Excellent organizational and presentation skills.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or related field.

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements and design, build, validate the financial solution.
• Explain functionality with mockups and diagrams; assist with aesthetics.
• Define rules for dimensions, crosswalks, and outputs.
• Assist releases with testing and documentation.
• Develop test plans and validate statements to source data.
• Create admin, end-user, crosswalk and training documentation.
