Job summary

SMX is seeking a Junior Federal Financial Business Analyst to join the client service delivery team. The role focuses on federal budgeting and planning within the BAS solution on SAC, partnering with stakeholders to analyze data, improve processes, and enable data-driven decisions.

This is a fully remote, full-time position with limited travel and a Public Trust clearance requirement. You will collaborate with designers, developers, and budget SMEs to enhance and roll out the next generation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in federal financial management or related areas (financial management, process analysis, data analytics, or consulting).
• Experience with federal government financial data and processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of client objectives, financial operations and priorities.
• Analyze and document business processes, workflows, requirements, and decision needs.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify process improvements.
• Recommend process, technology and data solutions to improve efficiency and outcomes.
• Review policies and data structures to assess impacts on processes.
• Utilize BI and analytics tools to maximize client data value.
• Guide clients in adopting solutions for better reporting and performance.
• Collaborate across teams to align requirements and delivery.
• Create quality documentation across SDLC and training.
• Develop test plans and manage test execution.
