Job summary

SMX is seeking a Junior Federal Financial Business Analyst to join the client service delivery team and advance a pre-built BAS solution for federal customers. This 100% remote role requires up to 20% travel and a Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in federal financial management, business process analysis, data analytics and reporting, or consulting.
• Experience with data analysis, reconciliation, and exception resolution.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of client objectives, financial operations, and strategic priorities.
• Analyze and document business processes, workflows, requirements, and decision-making needs.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify process improvements.
• Recommend solutions that enhance operational efficiency and financial outcomes.
• Review policies, data structures, and procedures for impacts on processes.
• Utilize BI tools to maximize value of client data assets.
• Guide clients in adopting solutions to improve effectiveness and reporting.
• Collaborate across teams to align requirements and delivery.
• Create quality documentation across SDLC phases and training materials.
• Develop test plans, business use cases, and manage test execution.
