Job summary

SMX is seeking a Junior Federal Financial Business Analyst to join the client service delivery team, focusing on federal budgeting and planning using SAP Analytics Cloud. This 100% remote role requires minimal travel and a Public Trust clearance.

You will partner with government stakeholders to analyze complex financial data, improve processes, and support strategic decision-making through data-driven solutions across the SDLC. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in federal financial management or related areas.
• Experience with data analytics, reconciliation, and exception resolution.
• Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of client objectives, financial operations, and strategic priorities.
• Analyze and document business processes, workflows, requirements, and decision-making needs.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Recommend process, technology, and data solutions to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
• Review policies and data structures to assess impacts on processes.
• Utilize BI and analytics tools to maximize client data value.
• Guide clients in adopting solutions to improve reporting and performance.
• Collaborate across teams to align requirements and deliver.
• Create quality documentation across SDLC phases (RTM, FDD, Design Docs, training guides).
• Develop test plans, business use cases, and manage test execution.
