Job summary

SMX is seeking a Federal Financial Business Analyst to join the client service delivery team. The role focuses on budgeting and spend planning for federal customers using SAC, with minimal travel and a requirement for Public Trust clearance.

You will work with designers, developers, and budget SMEs to enhance and roll out a best-in-class BAS solution. The position is fully remote in the United States with opportunities to shape processes, data models, and reporting across the SDLC, including

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, IS, data analytics, or related field.
• 5+ years in federal financial management or related consulting.
• Experience with federal government financial data.
• Experience with data analysis, reconciliation, and exception resolution.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Understand client objectives, financial operations, and priorities.
• Analyze and document processes, workflows, requirements.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify improvements.
• Recommend solutions to improve efficiency and financial outcomes.
• Review policies and data structures for impacts on processes.
• Utilize BI and analytics tools to maximize data value.
• Guide clients in adopting solutions for better performance.
• Collaborate across teams to align requirements.
• Create documentation across SDLC (RTM, FDD, Design, training).
• Develop test plans and business use cases.
