Job summary

SMX is seeking an experienced Federal Financial Business Analyst to advance the BAS budgeting and spend solution for federal customers. This remote, full-time role requires a Public Trust clearance and up to 20% travel.

You will partner with designers, developers and budget SMEs to enhance and deploy the next generation SAC-based planning app. You will analyze workflow, document requirements, run workshops, and champion data-driven process improvements that drive efficiency and financial

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in federal financial management, analysis, or related areas.
• Experience with federal government financial data and processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of client objectives, financial operations, and priorities.
• Analyze and document processes, requirements, and decision-making needs.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify improvements.
• Recommend solutions that improve efficiency and financial outcomes.
• Review policies and data structures to assess impacts on processes.
• Use BI tools to maximize value of client data assets.
• Guide clients in adopting solutions that improve reporting and performance.
• Collaborate with teams to align business, data, and tech needs.
• Create SDLC documentation and training materials.
• Develop test plans and manage test execution.
