Job summary

SMX is seeking a federal financial business analyst for the CFO Control Tower Budget and Spend (BAS) solution. The role involves deep-dive analysis of federal budgeting and planning processes, working with a cross-functional team, and delivering enhancements for a SAC-based pre-built government solution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in federal financial management, business process analysis, data analytics, or related areas.
• Experience with federal government financial data and processes.
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of client objectives, financial operations, and strategic priorities.
• Analyze and document business processes, workflows, requirements, and decision-making needs.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify process improvements.
• Recommend solutions that improve efficiency and financial outcomes.
• Review policies and data structures for impacts on processes.
• Use BI analytics tools to maximize data value for clients.
• Guide clients in adopting solutions that enhance reporting and financial performance.
• Collaborate across teams to align requirements.
• Create documentation across SDLC phases (RTM, FDD, Design Documents, training guides).
• Develop test plans and manage test execution.
