Job summary

SMX is seeking a Federal Financial Business Analyst to join our client service delivery team. This remote, full-time role partners with government stakeholders to analyze complex financial data, optimize processes, and support strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.

You will work with budget SMEs, designers, developers, and budget analysts to build, enhance, and roll out our BAS solution on SAC, adhering to SDLC and delivering documentation, test plans, and training materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5+ years in federal financial management, business process analysis, data analytics, management or technology consulting, or operations analysis.
• Experience with federal government financial data and processes.
• Experience with data analysis, reconciliation, and exception resolution.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Partner with government stakeholders to analyze complex financial and operational data.
• Improve business processes and develop actionable insights.
• Support strategic decision-making through data-driven solutions.
• Create quality documentation across all SDLC phases (RTM, FDD, Design Documents, end user docs, training guides).
• Develop test plans and business use cases; manage test execution.
