Job summary

SMX is seeking a federal financial business analyst to join our client service delivery team. This remote role requires Public Trust clearance and will focus on budgeting and planning for federal customers using the BAS solution on SAC.

You will work with design, development, and budget SMEs to build, enhance, and roll out next-generation planning capabilities. The position emphasizes stakeholder engagement, analytical problem solving, and impactful process improvement across finance operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, IS, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in federal financial management, business process analysis, data analytics, or consulting.
• Experience with federal government financial data and processes.
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of client objectives, financial operations, and priorities.
• Analyze and document processes, workflows, requirements, and decision-making needs.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify process improvements.
• Recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and financial outcomes.
• Create quality documentation across SDLC (RTM, FDD, Design Documents, end user docs).
• Develop test plans and manage test execution.
