Job summary

SMX seeks a Junior Federal Financial Business Analyst to join the client service delivery team. The role focuses on federal budgeting, planning processes, and data analytics within a SAC-based BAS solution, working with budget SMEs and government stakeholders.

This full-time position is 100% remote with travel <20% and requires Public Trust clearance. It offers opportunities to influence the next generation of planning applications and deliver value across federal clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in federal financial management, process analysis, data analytics, or related consulting.
• Experience with federal government financial data and processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of client objectives, financial operations, and strategic priorities.
• Analyze and document business processes, workflows, requirements, and decision needs.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Recommend process, technology, and data solutions for efficiency and financial outcomes.
• Review policies and data structures to assess impacts on processes.
• Utilize BI and analytics tools to maximize data value.
• Create quality documentation across SDLC and testing activities.
