SMX is seeking a Federal Financial Business Analyst to translate complex federal budgeting data into actionable insights, partnering with government stakeholders to optimize financial and operational performance. The role blends business processes, data analytics, and technology to deliver value for federal customers.

The position is 100% remote with minimal travel (<20%) and requires Public Trust clearance. Candidates should have strong communication, documentation, and testing capabilities across SDLC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, IS, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in federal financial management, business process analysis, data analytics or related areas.
• Experience with federal government financial data and processes.
• Experience with data analysis, reconciliation, and exception resolution.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex financial and operational data to improve processes and provide actionable insights.
• Support strategic decision-making through data-driven solutions.
• Facilitate workshops and collaborate with stakeholders to identify optimization opportunities.
• Recommend process, technology, and data solutions to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
