Job summary

SMX is seeking a Federal Financial Business Analyst to join a client service delivery team focused on budgeting and planning for federal customers. The role blends finance, data analytics, and technology to drive value and supports decision making with data-driven insights.

You will collaborate with government stakeholders, analysts, and SMEs to optimize processes and implement BI solutions across SAC and related tools, while working remotely with limited travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, IS, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in federal financial management, business process analysis, data analytics or related areas.
• Experience with federal government financial data and processes.
• Proven ability to translate data into actionable insights and present to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex financial and operational data to support strategic decision-making.
• Document business processes, requirements, and decision-making needs.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify improvements.
• Recommend process, technology, and data solutions to improve efficiency and outcomes.
• Create quality documentation across all phases of SDLC and develop test plans.
