Job summary

SMX is seeking a Junior Federal Financial Business Analyst to partner with government stakeholders, analyze financial data, and drive data-driven decisions. You will work across business processes, data analytics, and technology to optimize financial and operational performance.

The role is 100% remote with minimal travel (<20%) and requires Public Trust clearance. A Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in one or more: Federal financial management, business process analysis, data analytics & reporting, consulting, operations analysis or strategic planning.
• Experience with federal government financial data and processes.
• Experience with data analysis, reconciliation, and exception resolution.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex financial and operational data to support strategic decision-making.
• Document business processes, requirements, and decision-making needs.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify improvements.
• Recommend process, technology, and data solutions to improve efficiency.
• Create quality documentation across SDLC phases and develop test plans and use cases.
