Job summary

SMX is seeking a Federal Financial Business Analyst to join the client service delivery team. The role focuses on budgeting, planning, data analytics, and reporting for federal customers, leveraging SAC and BI tools.

You will partner with government stakeholders, translate complex data into actionable insights, and help design, test, and deploy the BAS solution. This 100% remote, full-time position requires a Public Trust clearance and up to 20% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in federal financial management, business process analysis, data analytics, or related consulting
• Experience with federal government financial data, reconciliation, and exception resolution
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one

Responsibilities

• Analyze and document business processes, workflows, requirements, and decision-making needs.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify process improvements.
• Recommend process, technology, and data solutions to improve efficiency and financial outcomes.
• Create quality documentation across SDLC phases and develop test plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to align business, data, and technology requirements.
