Job summary

SMX is seeking a Federal Financial Business Analyst to join the client service delivery team. You will work at the intersection of financial management, business processes, data analytics, and technology to analyze government data, improve processes, and support strategic decision-making with data-driven solutions.

Collaborate with stakeholders and a cross-disciplinary team to capture requirements, design improvements, create documentation, and develop test plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in federal financial management, business process analysis, data analytics, or related fields.
• Experience with federal government financial data and processes.
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex financial and operational data to support decision-making.
• Document business processes, requirements, and decision needs.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify improvements.
• Recommend process, technology, and data solutions to enhance efficiency.
• Develop test plans and use cases; manage test execution.
• Create quality documentation across SDLC (RTM, FDD, Design Docs, end-user guides).
