Job summary

SMX is seeking a Junior Federal Financial Business Analyst to join a remote, client-facing team supporting the CFO Control Tower BAS solution for federal customers. You will analyze complex financial data, document processes, and help implement data-driven improvements in budgeting and planning.

You will partner with government stakeholders, translate data into actionable insights, and support strategic decision-making through BI and reporting tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in one or more: federal financial management, business process analysis, data analytics and reporting, management or technology consulting, operations analysis or strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of client objectives, financial operations and strategic priorities.
• Analyze and document business processes, workflows, requirements and decision-making needs.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify process improvements.
• Recommend process, technology, and data solutions to improve efficiency and outcomes.
• Review policies, data structures and procedures to assess impacts on finances.
• Use BI tools to maximize value of client data assets.
• Guide clients in adopting solutions that improve reporting and financial performance.
• Collaborate across teams to align business, data and tech requirements.
• Create quality documentation across SDLC and training materials.
• Develop test plans and manage test execution.
