Pearson is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a 5–8 person software team responsible for a large-scale, API-driven platform used globally to issue and verify digital credentials. You’ll guide design discussions, maintain engineering standards, and ensure delivery meets customer needs, while supporting onboarding and growth of team members.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years managing or leading a software engineering team.
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, React, AWS, PostgreSQL and API management.

Responsabilidades

• Lead, coach, and support a team of 5–8 engineers.
• Plan and allocate daily and sprint work to meet delivery schedules.
• Troubleshoot blockers and coordinate handoffs with engineers, teams, and vendors.
• Triage bugs and production issues with attention to detail.
• Maintain coding and QA standards, reviews, and documentation.
• Give real-time feedback and conduct regular 1:1s.
• Own onboarding and skill development for new team members.
• Identify and propose team-level process improvements.
• Champion responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.
• Uphold secure, ethical, and resilient engineering practices.
