Pearson is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of 5–8 software engineers on the Enterprise Learning & Skills engineering team. You will oversee day-to-day health, output, and growth, guiding design discussions and ensuring quality, on a global API-driven platform.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years managing or leading a software engineering team.
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, React, AWS, and PostgreSQL.
• Proven track record delivering reliable software with quality standards.
• Excellent collaboration and communication with cross‑functional partners.

Responsabilidades

• Lead, coach, and support a team of 5–8 engineers building Ruby on Rails services and React frontends.
• Plan and allocate daily and sprint work, monitor progress and keep projects on track.
• Troubleshoot obstacles and coordinate handoffs across engineers, teams, and vendors.
• Triage bugs and production issues with attention to detail.
• Maintain standards of quality, coding and QA, test thoroughness, and documentation.
• Give real-time feedback, run 1:1s, and recognize team milestones.
• Own onboarding and skill development for new team members.
• Identify and introduce team process improvements and escalate issues.
• Champion the use of AI-assisted development tools responsibly.
• Uphold secure, ethical, and resilient engineering practices.
