Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking an Employee Relations Business Partner to support leaders with disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and termination reviews. The ERBP will collaborate with HR, Legal, and other teams to deliver consistent and values-aligned guidance in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates must reside within the Eastern or Central Time Zones in the United States and be able to travel up to 25% as needed, with the role offering 100% remote work and occasional travel for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Direct experience supporting leaders with disciplinary actions, performance issues, and terminations.
• Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws and union avoidance.
• Ability to communicate effectively across all employee levels.
• Strong coaching, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Demonstrated influencing skills with HR Partners and leaders.
• Ability to work independently with urgency and prioritization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Sound judgement and discretion with sensitive matters.
• Ability to collect, understand, interpret and share data effectively.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed.
• Ability to work remotely 100% with occasional travel for meetings.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ER subject-matter expert advising leaders on disciplinary actions and performance issues.
• Support reviews of disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and involuntary terminations.
• Partner with ER team, HRBPs, Legal, and other departments to align with values and priorities.
• Interpret policies to ensure consistent application and educate stakeholders.
• Own ER cases in case management system and Ethics Hotline.
• Analyze ER trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with HRBPs to foster a positive ER environment.
• Assist with information gathering for legal complaints and charges.
• Act as backup for ER intake when needed.
• Conduct less complex ER investigations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
