Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking an Employee Relations Business Partner to advise leaders on disciplinary actions, performance plans, and terminations, while handling investigations with integrity.

The ERBP collaborates with HR, Legal, and ER teams across the enterprise, supporting multiple cases in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must reside within the Eastern or Central Time Zones and be eligible to travel up to 25% with a fully remote work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field with 2 years of HR/Employee Relations experience (or alternate combos).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Direct experience supporting leaders with disciplinary actions, conduct issues, performance improvement plans, and terminations.
• Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws and union avoidance.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time and work 100% remotely with occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an employee relations subject-matter expert, advising leaders with strong listening, probing, and investigatory skills.
• Use Workday and ServiceNow to support reviews of disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and involuntary termination reviews.
• Partner with ER team, HR Business Partners, Legal, and other departments to align with values and priorities.
• Interpret policies and processes to ensure consistent application and educate employees and stakeholders.
• Own assigned employee relations cases within the case management system and/or Ethics Hotline, documenting and handling matters per ER processes.
• Analyze employee relations trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Promote a positive environment where employees seek guidance and receive timely issue resolution.
• Assist with information gathering related to legal complaints and charges.
• Serve as a backup for Employee Relations intake and conduct less complex investigations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
