Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking an Employee Relations Business Partner to advise leaders on disciplinary actions, performance plans, and investigations, while partnering with Legal and HR to ensure compliant, consistent practices. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field and 2 years’ HR/employee relations experience, or a different combination including a master’s degree and up to 2 years’ experience; or 6 years’ related experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Direct experience supporting leaders with disciplinary actions, conduct issues, performance improvement plans and involuntary terminations.
• Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws and union avoidance.
• Effective communication across all employee levels (exempt, non-exempt, corporate, and field).
• Strong coaching, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Influencing skills to advise HR Partners and leaders on disciplinary and performance actions.
• Ability to work independently with urgency and prioritization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Discretion handling sensitive matters and data interpretation.
• Travel up to 25%; 100% remote work with occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ER subject-matter expert advising and guiding leaders with investigations and case management.
• Review disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and involuntary termination requests using Workday and ServiceNow.
• Partner with ER team, HR Partners, Legal, and other departments to align recommendations with company values.
• Interpret policies and educate employees to ensure consistent application.
• Own assigned ER cases within case management systems and Ethics Hotline.
• Analyze ER trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with HR Partners to foster a positive, open ER environment.
• Assist with information gathering for legal complaints and charges.
• Serve as backup for ER intake and conduct less complex investigations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
