Job summary

Merck, a leader in oncology, seeks an Oncology Sales Representative to cover the Phoenix South, AZ territory and drive sales while engaging with customers and educating stakeholders about oncology products. Travel to national meetings is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of sales experience or equivalent.
• High school diploma with at least 8 years of equivalent experience.
• Experience in healthcare/scientific fields with oncology exposure is strongly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive.
• Willingness to travel with 10–15% overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed the assigned sales goals for the geography.
• Understand customer practice structures and build business relationships to uncover needs.
• Communicate the patient-centered rationale for oncology products to stakeholders.
• Know the workings of extended care teams and cancer treatment pathways.
• Analyze buying environments and identify trends across multiple distribution channels.
• Develop and execute short- and long-term plans with local teams and leadership.
• Ask insightful questions to understand customer priorities and shape product discussions.
• Ensure a consistent customer experience across divisions and collaborate with relevant teams.
