Job summary

Merck is seeking an Oncology Sales Representative to grow our oncology portfolio in the Phoenix, AZ area. This field-based role requires building relationships with key stakeholders, achieving territory sales goals, and educating customers on our oncology products with data-driven messaging.

The position involves travel to visits and national meetings (approximately 10–15% overnight), remote work options, and participation in business planning with the Oncology Customer Team Leader.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of sales experience or an equivalent combination.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel, including overnight travel up to 10–15%.
• Residence within the district or reasonable distance to the district.

Responsibilities

• Attain or exceed the assigned sales goals for the geography.
• Build business relationships and understand customer needs within oncology practice.
• Communicate compelling, patient-centered rationale for oncology products.
• Understand cancer treatment pathways and their impact on patients.
• Analyze trends in a complex buying environment across multiple distribution channels.
• Develop and execute short- and long-term plans with the Oncology Customer Team Leader.
• Ask insightful questions to identify customer priorities and needs.
• Ensure a consistent customer experience across divisions and collaborate with the designated teams.
