Job summary

Cox Automotive in the United States is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and diagnostics in a mobile/field setting. This role involves light to heavy repairs, inventory management, and safety checks on a fleet of trucks and trailers.

You’ll work with a team to meet performance metrics, document work with TRAIT via an iOS device, and communicate estimates with clients and management, with a path to advanced mechanical skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field, or 5 years’ experience.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hire.
• DOT medical card with more than four months remaining preferred; if <=4 months, DOT physical required.
• ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and light to heavy repairs in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, hydraulic, cooling, and engine systems on trucks.
• Manage parts inventory, service truck, and pre/post-trip safety inspections.
• Document findings and parts used in the TRAIT system via iOS device.
• Communicate estimates and approvals with management and customers.
