Job summary

HHSC seeks an Eligibility Advisor I to interview applicants, collect financial information, and determine eligibility for SNAP, TANF, Medicaid and related programs. The role includes data entry and applying regulatory guidelines in a fast-paced environment.

The position offers telework eligibility, regular hours, and opportunities for career progression within AES. A strong focus on accuracy and customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter hours preferred.
• One year of customer service experience with public contact required.
• Experience in interviewing clients and gathering information is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to determine financial eligibility for public assistance programs.
• Enter data into computer-based eligibility system.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility determinations.
• Process work according to state/federal regulations and procedures.
