Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks an Eligibility Advisor I for its AES division in Amarillo, TX. This temporary role focuses on determining eligibility for SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid, with duties spanning data collection, verification, and benefits computation.

Overtime and travel up to 10% may be required; telework is possible per policy. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with 60 hours preferred, along with at least one year of customer service experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours preferred.
• One (1) year of customer service experience with public contact.
• Experience interviewing clients is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants and recipients to determine financial eligibility for public assistance programs.
• Evaluate data from various sources to enter into the eligibility system.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility determinations.
• Process work in accordance with regulations and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
