Job summary

Paige Renewable Energy, a GCG company, seeks an experienced Electrical Design Estimator to support utility-scale renewable energy projects across North America. You will translate drawings and specifications into accurate estimates, perform detailed takeoffs, and coordinate with Sales, Engineering, and Supply Chain to position projects for successful execution.

Remote work is offered, with preference for candidates in the Eastern or Central Time Zone to align with the team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical estimating experience or equivalent electrical construction/design experience including estimating and takeoff responsibilities.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, site plans, specifications, and BOMs.
• Experience performing detailed material takeoffs and developing project estimates.
• Strong understanding of electrical materials, conductors, connectors, and distribution systems.
• Proficiency with Excel and takeoff/document-review software (Bluebeam or equivalent).
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills for multiple estimates.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQ packages, drawings, site layouts, and BOMs to understand scope and requirements.
• Perform detailed electrical material takeoffs (cables, harnesses, connectors, assemblies).
• Develop project estimates including material costs, vendor pricing, freight, and manufacturing costs.
• Identify discrepancies, scope gaps, and risks; document assumptions and clarifications.
• Validate quantities, materials, calculations, and revisions before release.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain and manufacturing for pricing, lead times, and freight inputs.
• Support proposal development, design revisions, BAFO, and estimate revisions.
• Communicate impacts of estimate changes on quantities, scope, cost, and materials.
• Maintain organized estimating files for independent review.
• Support project handoff ensuring alignment with PO and award.
• Assist with changes, spare parts, and change orders; improve templates and tools.
